BEE- EMS was established in 1981 and very soon after in 1986 was purchased by Rob McBrien, who is still the owner today some 32+ years on. We are a proudly family owned Australian Business and have always been located in Hornsby on Sydney’s North Shore.

BEE-EMS has been specialising in BMWs for all that time, over 36 years (yes that’s longer than most of the Sydney BMW dealers). MINI joined our ranks in the early 2000s’ when they became part of the BMW family. As you can imagine over those 36+ years we believe we have probably seen and solved just about any BMW or MINI problem there is!

Here at BEE-EMS we love BMWs and MINIs. We did back when we began and still do, guess you would call us enthusiasts. We own, drive, collect, race and rally them!

We are very happy to say that our “2IC” Noel, has been with us here at BEE-EMS for 24+ years. A longevity not often seen these days. He is a very valued and important member of our team, much respected by us and our clients.

Another point of great pride is that we have clients today that have been with us since those very early days. We appreciate and value their trust and loyalty. Some of them, when in the market for a new vehicle will only consider BMWs as they won’t go to any other workshop. Its clients, like these that have helped to spread our reputation. Word of mouth recommendations account for how the greatest number of new clients find us.

BEE-EMS is the real alternative to dealer service. For the quality service and attention you and your car deserve call BEE-EMS.

Owner

Rob McBrien

Rob purchased BEE-EMS in 1986, from its original owner who had begun trading in 1981. He has owned and operated it since then, (32+ years.)

Rob believes that in today’s rapidly changing and challenging Automotive industry there is no place for complacency. Each new model of vehicle is more technical and complex than the last. You must stay up to date. Rob participates regularly in training here and overseas and sources the latest specialised equipment available to stay at the forefront of the latest technology.

Rob is a car lover generally, and has owned a mixed and varied lot over the years, but as you would expect has a particular spot in his heart for BMW & MINI. He bought his first BMW in 1982, a 1973 3.0Si and he still it owns today! Another favourite is his E34 M5.

He is a keen participant in Classic and Targa rally’s, competing in a 1972 BMW 2002. He also participates in super sprint events in a MINI R53. This same car is also driven by his son in super sprint, race and endurance events. They, together with some other BMW loving friends have also competed in the charity event “LeMons” (pronounced Lemons) in anE46 3 series.

Senior Technician

Noel Daly

We are proud to say that Noel has worked with us here at BEE-EMS for 24+ years. A longevity in a job not often seen these days! He is a very valued and important member of our team, greatly respected by us and our clients.

He is our resident dry witted Irishman and his sense of humour does leave some people puzzled at times! Noel moved here in the 1980’s and brought with him experience of UK and European models. He had been very involved in rallying in Europe & Ireland, developing and building competition cars.

Noel loves his soccer and is Manchester United fan and is also a keen photographer.

Noel has owned and driven many different BMWs but his favourite BMW model is the E30 M3.

Sean Jackson

Sean started with us as a second year apprentice in early 2016, has completed his apprenticeship and is now fully qualified. Sean has great enthusiasm for his work and learning all he can about the cars he works on. We are very happy to have him as part of our team.

He is a local Sydney sider and passionate BMW lover! We suspect his blood might actually be blue and white!

He currently owns 2 BMWs, a much loved E36 318is, his first car and “daily driver” and a race car- E36 318is Supercharged that is nearing completion. In his family there are several others and I’m sure his collection will only continue to grow.

Sean participates in Super Sprint events as driver & when not driving supports other teams as pit crew member.

Lachlan McBrien

Lachlan is our newest addition, commencing work with us here in early 2018, but in many ways he is also an old hand! Lachlan is Rob’s son & has been a familiar figure around the workshop all his life. Cars (and particularly motorsport) have always been his passion and we are delighted to have him join us at BEE-EMS.

Lachlan completed his apprenticeship in Melbourne and has spent recent years working specifically in Motorsport. Amongst a large variety of work he has built, prepared & supported cars from Touring Car Masters, Porsche GT3Cup Challenge & GT1, V8 Touring Cars, Radicals, Formula Ford, Super TT & Improved Production. He has also worked with the BMW Team SRM, supporting an M6 in Australian GT category.

When Lachlan isn’t working he enjoys playing AFL & cricket, however it’s fair to say there is a good chance you will find him at a race track somewhere! He participates in BMW Club events, Improved production series, Enduro events & LeMons charity events, both driving and crewing. His current race car project is an E46 M3 – soon to hit the tracks!

Lachlan has a few BMWs (not surprisingly), an E46 325ci daily driver, E46 320i M-sport Touring wagon, but his heart holds a soft spot for his 1971 2002.

Murray Cheverall

Murray joined us here in 2017 and is usually the voice at the other end of the line when you call. Yes, it is an unmistakable Kiwi accent despite the fact that he has been here in Australia since the mid 1980s!

Murray completed his automotive apprenticeship in New Zealand and has worked in a variety of workshops both independent & dealer, here & in New Zealand.

He is an NRL follower & Newcastle Knights supporter, but mostly enjoys spending his spare time with family and especially his granddaughter.

His favourite BMWs are the “M”cars, especially the M5 E60 V10 model.
